IDYTRAA - Extra 8&9

Extra 8 Weddings are inhuman

The wedding was rushed, but it was spectacular.

It had not been simple for Pan Yue, a WoMan, to put on her bridal gown. Aunt Pan was the most miserable of the Pan family's women, who were constantly dabbing their eyes.

Pan Yue's father comforted his wife and gently wiped away her tears.

"Our daughter is only getting married, not leaving us forever. We now have a son. There's no reason to be sad."

"I'm not sad, Yueyue's dad; I'm happy. I finally married her off, which was far more difficult than the Long March. It was far from easy. This girl has been taken and will not leave her home to become a nun in order to seek God. We two elderly people can finally relax and let go of our secret worry. These are joyful tears."

Pan Yue's father was left speechless. He took his wife aside so that no one would realize she was crying tears of joy; it would be embarrassing.

Li Shimin's parents were true country folk who were struggling to adjust to this grandeur. Their daughter-in-law was lovely, yet she could be weird at times.

Pan Yue despised how heavy and hot the bridal gown was, so she just lifted it up, exposing her thighs. She'd flash her panties if she hiked it any further.

Li Shimin was not offended by her actions. He leaned in close and drew her dress down a little, holding a cardboard piece to fan her.

"What the hell is up with this dithering? Laoniang has finally decided to marry, but why is the process taking so long?"

"It seems that the emcee for the wedding has yet to arrive. Just wait a bit longer."

Li Shimin yanked her away from causing a scene and embarrassing herself in front of the many people arriving and going.

"Listen to me; just wait a while."

Everyone was expecting the host. This host was too shameless to keep everyone waiting. Time flew by, and it was nearly midday. The Pans were worried, the bride was worried, Li Shimin's parents were worried, and all the brothers and friends were worried.

Aunt Pan warned Pan Yue to temper her enthusiasm and avoid causing trouble. Pan Yue finally decided to marry after being firmly admonished not to cause mischief, so don't allow her to get worked up. Wouldn't it be even more shameful if she threw her veil away and didn't marry?

There was nothing that could be done. A certain couple had to put up with it and wait to get Li Shimin drunk when he offered a toast.

Tian Yuan checked his phone and saw that it was five minutes to twelve o'clock.

It was almost twelve o'clock. It was nearly noon, and the ceremony had yet to begin. Strange, it's already 12?

Tian Yuan's eyes widened as he grasped Pan Lei's wrist to check the time. Nothing out of the ordinary, only five minutes to twelve.

"What's wrong?"

"This won't do! They must marry before twelve! If you marry after noon, you will have a second marriage. It's a bad omen for newlyweds like them. Big Sis, Big Sis, hurry up and hold the wedding ceremony before it's too late!"

Pan Yue became concerned when she heard this. She immediately jumped up and hastily smoothed her wedding gown, with all of her brothers and friends moving forward to assist. Pan Ge straightened her veil, and her sister-in-law (Pan Zhan's wife) adjusted her wedding gown, while Zhang Hui and others tidied up Li Shimin's wedding suit.

"Hey, what are you doing?! Hurry up! We're almost out of time!"

Pan Yue blew up. She lifted her dress, snatched Li Shimin's arm and dashed to the gathering hall. Everyone suspected the couple was eloping.

Pan Yue hauled Li Shimin onto the stage, regardless of whether the guests were sitting or not.

"I agree to marry you. For better or worse, in sickness and in health, yada yada. OK! I've made my promises. It's your turn now. Keep it brief."

Pan Yue gave Li Shimin a push when she noticed he was a bit dazed.

"Ah! I take you as my wife and will love you for the rest of my life."

"Where's the ring? Put it on quickly! Hurry!"

Pan Yue grabbed the ring box, extended her finger, and placed the ring on her finger. She couldn't wait for Li Shimin to put the ring on her, so she put it on herself.

She leaned in and kissed Li Shimin before tossing the wedding bouquet to Lin Mu.

She declared loudly.

"End of ceremony."

Whew! It was not an easy task. The ceremony concluded in the 58th minute.

"Big sister, big sister, you must offer tea. The wedding will not be complete until you serve tea to the elders."

Lin Mu laughed hysterically as he watched, and added another step for her to finish. What fun! Marriage seems more stressful than war.

"Damn! What a pain. Where are your parents? You take care of my parents, and I’ll take care of yours. Quick, split up."

Pan Yue dashed to her in-laws, carrying two cups of tea.

"Drink your tea quickly. Tea, Mom and Dad. We're almost out of time. Drink it now!"

Li Shimin's parents, who were true country people, were terrified. What was this daughter-in-law up to?

Pan Yue almost squeezed the old man's chin to pour the tea in.

The elderly couple rushed to sip tea. Pan Yue snatched the red envelope just as it was taken out.

"Thank you very much, Mom and Dad."

The elderly couple was stiff. Was this a female bandit?

Everyone was in fits of laughter as they watched this farce come to a close. Yup! The ceremony was completed before twelve o'clock. Pan Yue leaned against her new spouse, sighing with relief and flinging her veil away.

"F*ck! Weddings are inhuman."

Li Shimin, the newly minted Pan Brother-in-law, was distraught. Yeah, weddings are truly inhuman. It’s more stressful than mission execution.

"Oh right, I forgot. Yesterday, we both set our phones and watches ahead by half an hour. We were worried about oversleeping and being late for today's wedding. It's actually just half past eleven o'clock."

Tian Yuan asserted this after careful study.

The audience's laughter became more animated.

Pan Yue clenched her teeth in rage. She removed her high heels and hurled them at Tian Yuan.

"Tian Yuan, you jerk! Laoniang will fight you to death."

Pan Lei took a step ahead.

"If you dare to touch my baby, laozi and you will be irreconcilable. If you have the ability, come fight."

Pan Yue lifted her bridal gown, ready to start fighting.

"Who is scared of whom?"

"You are his older sister, wife, so don't argue with him. It is our big day, so let's not get into a fight. We are a family, and we will have the opportunity to exact revenge together in the future."

"Humph! I’ll listen to my man. I won't bother with you today. Just you wait for laoniang."

"Fine! Laozi is waiting for you."

Extra 9 Call jiěfu[1] for money

Pan Lei was a bandit, as is well known. Pan Lei resumed his banditry at Pan Yue's wedding banquet.

Tian Yuan raised the wine glass and was going to speak as the assistant instructor brought his wife to toast, planning to say, "Big Sis, Big Brother-in-law, may you live a long and happy life together," but Pan Lei squeezed his hand while smiling slyly.

"You said you'd be my brother-in-law, deputy instructor. You have finally married my sister. Shouldn't we put our work aside and just be relatives?"

The assistant instructor smiled.

"Indeed. Commander, you are now my xiǎo jiùzi[2]."

Pan Lei rubbed his nose.

"Yeah, right, Little Brother-in-law. Do you think you'll be able to get me to call you Big Brother-in-Law so easily? You want me to be your Little Brother-in-law? That's fine."

Pan Lei drew Tian Yuan to him.

"We don't have enough money for home interior decoration. Shouldn't you, as our Big Sis and Big Brother-in-law pitch in a little? I've already robbed Eldest and Second Brother, and I've squeezed everything from Grandma's, leaving you two."

"Bandit!"

Pan Yue leaned forward and pointed at Pan Lei, who she despised a thousand times over.

"WoMan."

Pan Lei exhibited no signs of weakening.

"We all have enough money to buy another house, Pan Lei. Why the hell would you want to rob using various titles?"

It was their Big Sis's happy occasion, and it was not the appropriate day to plunder. Tian Yuan tugged on his arm, signaling him to quit causing trouble.

"Do you think calling him Big Brother-in-law will let you easily exhort him? You must demonstrate your sincerity. You can't call him brother-in-law until you give us a wedding gift."

The assistant instructor was adamant.

"I knew you were hiding your evil intentions in order to set me up."

"Don't put it off any longer. I'll utilize my power for selfish benefit and play tricks on you. Now that I'm the commander, I'll keep you from getting promoted and hold you back."

"All right, I'll give you a gift."

The assistant instructor knew Pan Lei would not let him off easily, so he prepared ahead of time. He handed Pan Lei a deep red packet.

"Call me Big Brother-in-law, Little Brother-in-law."

"I want to see how much this little brother-in-law is worth."

Pan Lei gave the packet to Tian Yuan.

"See how much it is, baby. Is it enough to change the way we address him?"

The banknotes were so large that they reached the envelope's mouth. Tian Yuan took out the money and discovered two pink Grandpa Mao.

"Pooh! Your uncle, laozi is only worth 200 yuan? The mafia offered two million dollars for my head back then."

He extended his hand once more in front of the assistant instructor.

"Hurry, this money is not enough. You can't be my big brother-in-law if you're this stingy. Pay up! Give me money."

Another red envelope. Tian Yuan opened it and discovered two pink Grandpa Mao.

The assistant instructor smiled at him but did not offer them any more money.

"What are you b*tching for? Why don’t you give it all at once. What’s with giving out 200 yuan at a time? Pay up or I’ll charge you interest."

"You’re really a schemer. I’ll pay you 2000 yuan to call me Big Brother-in-law. That’s my ten-day wage."

"What about our Pan family's daughter, whom we have been raising for over 30 years, whom you have taken as your wife? How much money was spent? Have I settled this debt with you?"

The assistant instructor had no choice but to take out the largest and heaviest red envelope and count the money inside. It was 2000 yuan. He took out 400 yuan and gave Pan Lei the rest 1600 yuan.

"Shouldn't you call me Big Brother-in-Law?"

Pan Lei instructed Tian Yuan to pack the money before patting the assistant instructor on the shoulder.

"We live and die together as brothers. I feel sorry for you. You've been through a lot. You are our Pan family's benefactor. It will be difficult for you to marry this WoMan. Tell this Little Brother-in-law if she bullies you, and I'll teach her a lesson for you. But don’t even think of abandoning her. Goods once sold will not be returned or exchanged. She is a good woman despite her casual attitude. You must adore her and take good care of her. If she ever goes back to her mother's house crying, don't blame this Little Brother-in-law for being rude to you. She is the Pan family’s beloved daughter, so be kind to her."

"You adore and cherish your wife. There may be times when you sigh and wonder why you married her. I'm too familiar with her personality to think she's bad. She is straightforward rather than rough. She's an artless young lady. Promise you’ll love her forever."

Pan Yue slapped Pan Lei on the shoulder.

"Baby Brother, you are so wonderful. I was right to help you fight when you were young."

"What else? Yeah! Big Sis, Big Brother-in-law, it’s 2000 yuan for me to call you Big Brother-in-law. It'll be double if my Tian'er refers to you as Big Brother-in-Law. Isn't it proper that if such a precious person opens his golden mouth, the price will inevitably double? Four thousand. I won't let him recognize you for anything less, not even a fen." {T/N: fen is equivalent to cent/penny.}

Pan Yue instantly exploded.

"You've joined forces to rob. Stop dreaming; you're not going to get any money!"

Tian Yuan gave them a sweet smile.

"I wish you a wonderful life, Big Sis and Big Brother-in-law. Give birth to a son soon[3]."

Pan Yue patted her pockets and Li Shimin's pockets, finding three thousand yuan, and almost gave Tian Yuan their rings as well.

"It’s my younger sister-in-law that’s sensible. Don't worry, sis-in-law. Big Sis doesn't have much money right now. When we have a baby, I will have twins and give you one as a son."

"Give him to us when he’s grown up. I’ll look after him and raise him as if he were my son over the years. I don’t want another child."

IDYTRAA - Extra 7

Extra 7 The assistant instructor named Li Shimin

The CO of the military region granted special permission for the assistant instructor to come and depart the military region at his discretion in order to court Pan Yue.

This was essentially identical to Pan Lei. Because he could come and go freely, Pan Lei had numerous opportunities to sneak home in the middle of the night and sleep with his beloved in his arms.

The assistant instructor sent Pan Yue flowers.

They weren't Huang Kai's showy roses; instead, they were cacti.

He sent a big palm-sized red-topped and green-necked cactus that was quite cute and hairy on the first day.

On the second day, he sent a pink-thorned ball cactus. Even the sharp needles on it were adorable.

On the third day, he just brought a pot of crab orchids he'd grown himself, crab claw orchid, a bloom grafted from a cactus.

Pan Yue's computer's front was lined with these cacti that made her squeal when she accidently poked them.

Pan Yue very much wanted to wrap the cacti and throw them away, but she felt bad for the assistant instructor. Despite having her palm wounded countless times, she did not discard the cacti.

After a month, the assistant instructor spent a month's pay on a pair of rings.

Pan Yue took it shyly, and the assistant instructor smiled so hard that his face flushed. When people fall in love, their personalities can truly change. Who would have guessed that even a tomboy like Pan Yue would be shy?

Pan Yue took and opened the ring box. The coquettishness of a young girl on her face vanished without a trace.

She grabbed the box and tossed it into the assistant instructor's arms.

"F*ck you, ba$tard! Why did you give me a pair of men's rings? Laozi is a woman, not a man, so why the hell did you buy a wedding ring designed specially for gays? I'm a woman, you know, a woman. If you don't believe me, try it for yourself."

Pan Yue took his hand and was ready to lay it on her feminine part causing the assistant instructor to jump three steps back in terror.

He couldn't believe that someone would use this way to establish she was a woman. He was frightened every time he interacted with Pan Yue.

"Why are you running away? Won’t I be letting you touch and love me all over when we get married! I’ll let you touch me in advance. Laoniang is not a Wangzai small steamed bun; even if it is a little smaller, it is nonetheless a steamed dumpling[1]. You will not lose out if you marry me. You’ll definitely get to play with the two pieces of flesh. They’re also quite tactile, and they’ll have enough milk when we have a child."

The assistant instructor wished to scold her. Shit! Didn't you say you're a woman! Will it kill you to be a little gentle?

"I simply felt it was a good pair and purchased it. If you don't like it, we can go find something else that you do."

"It doesn't matter. Laoniang’s hair is cut short, so I'll pass for a man. You’ll be marrying a fake man, and this ring is just right. So, what does this mean? Are you proposing? Hurry up, I can’t wait!"

The assistant instructor appreciated her candor, but she was overly direct. The marriage proposal was also coerced.

"You can't say no to me. We'll go obtain the certificate after the ring is put on. Then we'll buy a house and live happily ever after."

Pan Yue opened the box, took the somewhat smaller ring, and placed it on her finger. She wrapped a thread around it because it was a little loose and she didn't want to lose it.

The assistant instructor coughed.

"Pan Yue, let's marry. I will love and care for you for the rest of my life."

Pan Yue's ears were pricked as she listened to his proposal, but the assistant instructor simply waited for Pan Yue's response after finishing his words.

Pan Yue was expecting him to say something else, so she waited with bated breath.

"Huh? Is that it? You were also present at Pan Lei's wedding. Have a look at my brother! What he said was so moving. You should at least tell me something along those lines."

"Stop joking, just tell me if you agree or disagree."

Commander Pan Lei was a corny guy. He didn't want to learn mushy endearments like "my baby" and "honey" from him.

"Say yes, Yueyue, nod quickly."

The elders were all watching, anticipating Pan Yue's marriage. They were nervous more than anything else.

Parents are always more concerned about their daughters. They are fearful that their daughter will marry an unkind man and have a difficult life. They were now worried that Pan Yue would have an "abnormal" attack and turn her head in refusal.

"Well, you told me not to joke. You can be more practical and go get the certificate with me if you have the ability."

The assistant instructor looked at General Pan. Before he could marry, he required the approval of his supervisor.

Papa Pan hurriedly grabbed the phone and dialed the CO of the military region.

"Write an approval letter to the assistant instructor as soon as possible. They are getting married soon."

The CO of the military region acted quickly, and the approval letter was faxed out within three minutes.

The assistant instructor held the freshly baked approval letter. Aunt Pan grabbed the ID card and household registration book, shoving it into Pan Yue's hands.

"Go and register right away! Don't wait even a minute, go quickly!"

Her daughter would be married as soon as the pair received the marriage certificate. She would grasp the opportunity to organize a banquet, use the emcee at Pan Lei's wedding, and have them proclaimed a couple.

There was nothing to worry about once the couple received their marriage certificate.

All of the Pan family members were beaming as they kicked the pair out of the gate, stating that they were awaiting the happy news that they had become a family.

Pan Yue didn't want to leave, but it was impossible to turn back halfway, and more importantly, she couldn't stop her elders.

She took the plunge and headed to the marriage registration office.

Pan Yue was ready to fill out the application form when she realized she didn't know the name of the assistant instructor.

They were almost married and nearly a couple. She had always addressed him as "assistant instructor" and had no idea what his name or surname was.

"Hey, what's your name?"

Everyone's attention was drawn to her voice. This man and woman were set to marry, so why didn't the bride know the groom's name? It had to be a forced union.

The assistant instructor stood behind her and filled out the application form with his name.

Pan Yue did nothing except observe. She didn't pick up the application form until he finally put down the pen. She read his first and last name. Pan Yue arched her brow.

"Li Shimin[2]?"

The assistant instructor nodded.

"That’s me."

The assistant instructor’s name turned out to be Li Shimin.

Footnotes:

[1] Let me just say that buns don't have stuffing, whereas dumplings (Xiaolongbao) have a thin, translucent skin filled with soup/filling. Make what you will of it. Wangzai is a brand.

[2] Li Shimin is the personal name of Emperor Taizong, the second emperor of the Tang dynasty of China, ruling from 626 to 649. His name "Shimin" was a shortened form of the Buddhist prayer "save the earth and give the people peace" (濟世安民, jishi anmin,) or more shortly could be translated as: "Li- the citizen of the world," "Li- world's folk."

IDYTRAA - Extra 5&6

Extra 5 Older ginger is spicier

The chapter title is a proverb - The older the person is, the more seasoned (wiser or more treacherous) they are.

Mama Dang Hong pushed open the door and witnessed Pan Yue's leg collide with the man's stomach. With his arm over Pan Yue's thigh, the assistant instructor was fast asleep.

Mama Dang Hong was speechless. What an awful sleeping position these two kids had! Pan Yue scratched her tummy again and again. Her hands were dishonest, so she groped the guy's chest as well. The assistant instructor seized her hand in his and gripped it tightly.

Papa Pan didn't know what his wife was gazing at, so he walked over to take a look and erupted, his fury nearly exploding his head.

"I'm going to shoot this stinking brat dead. He does not want to marry Yueyue, yet he sleeps with her and takes advantage of her."

Papa Pan had a fiery temper. He turned and marched into the study with an angry yell. He wanted to get his hands on the whip, but he'd given it to his son-in-law, so he opened the drawer and pulled out a gun.

Mama Dang Hong's eyes shone with cunning as she pressed Papa Pan's hand down.

"What are you doing? Shoot this kid, and Yueyue's chances of getting married will be significantly lower. Watch me. I'm telling him that there's no turning back. If he wants to marry, he must marry; if he does not want to marry, he must still marry."

The gun in Papa Pan's hand was fully loaded. He took his hand off the trigger after Mama Dang Hong stopped him.

The assistant instructor had no notion that he had walked around on the verge of death while fast asleep after getting dead-drunk.

"This smelly brat has decided that he does not like Yueyue. What can you do?"

Mama Dang Hong gave a sly smile. When she returned with a digital camera, she demonstrated why she deserved to be dean. She took close-up photos of their overlapping bodies, holding hands, and placing their hand on the other party's thigh. She purposefully chose unclear corners so that when you looked at the images, you could see the viewpoint of the situation.

Then she rolled Pan Yue into the assistant instructor's arms. The assistant instructor cuddled her and slept soundly. Click! Another photo.

They didn't wake up despite being moved back and forth like this. What a pair of pigs! I disdain you.

Mama Dang Hong shook the camera.

"Send it to Leizi's Little Aunt, then to the military region's CO. I don't think this sonofab!tch will dare shirk his responsibility. He will be expelled from the army if he refuses to admit it. This type of irresponsible man is unfit to serve in the army."

Pan Lei's Little Aunt, who was dressed in a cheongsam and practicing the splits, received the images one by one. She gasped, her eyes rolled, and she dropped her phone when she saw the photographs.

Her husband, Pan Lei's Little Uncle, swiftly administered a heart-relief medication to his wife. Little Aunt finally took up the phone with trembling hands after a half-hour delay.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, this girl has finally slept with a man, and I, her mother, am relieved. This is simply a massively happy event. She ultimately slept with a man like a normal girl! I always thought she’d find me a female son-in-law. These photographs make me immensely happy. She is normal and doesn’t like women. It’s great that she likes men."

Mama Dang Hong’s head was full of black lines.

"Sister-in-law, don't say such things. You have all these photos, and they are still sleeping very soundly in the back room. Don't you want to take advantage of this opportunity to force marriage?"

"Yeah, yeah, strike while the iron is hot. So you keep them intoxicated and make sure they sleep until tomorrow. I'll be there as soon as possible. I'm going to force the two of them to marry."

Little Aunt flung away her phone and hastened to pack her things. Within ten minutes, she had wrapped her arms around the wedding gown, dragged Little Uncle into the car, and hurried over.

The military region's CO's reaction was quite typical. Seeing these photographs was difficult for the elderly man. It's a miracle he didn't smash the desk or break all the teacups.

"I’ll put him in confinement and court-martial him! General, I must give an explanation to your niece, or I’ll never forgive this ba$tard!"

"What can we do now that they've already slept together? A girl's innocence is very important. Just think of a way to persuade him to marry my niece. That’s the best way. It’s good that my niece likes him."

Is it simple to raise a child? They were this elderly and still had to play tricks and concoct schemes.

Set traps and dig holes for them to jump together.

It was a good old drinking session that concluded in a marriage.

The plastered duo was dead to the world. When the assistant instructor eventually awoke, he saw a middle-aged woman's face with staring eyes only a dozen centimeters away and shook his head.

He turned around to see the CO, who had a livid face and was gnashing his teeth.

He assumed he was dreaming since his brain couldn't absorb what he was seeing. He was dazed as he wondered why these insane guys had run into his dream.

Thump! He flopped down once again. Pan Yue rubbed her nose, scratched here and there, grabbed his arm, and fell asleep while cuddling him.

"What a strange dream."

The assistant instructor muttered. He had a splitting headache and refused to think, preferring to sleep.

"What are you doing sleeping in your clothes, son-in-law? You will not be able to have a child like this. If you want to sleep, take off your clothes quickly. Let me be a grandma this time next year."

Everyone in the Pan family had a loose screw, and Little Aunt was no exception.

Who in their right mind would encourage their children to strip naked and sleep together?

The assistant instructor shut his eyes.

"You are so odd, Auntie."

The CO couldn't take it any longer. Why had this ba$tard collapsed again after waking up?

"Get your a$$ up now and look at what you’ve done!!"

The assistant instructor was unmoved. This dream was too noisy.

Even if the CO gave him the order, he would not carry it out.

The CO flew into a rage. He took out a whistle and made three short sounds with it. It was the army's wake-up whistle.

The assistant instructor leapt out of bed as though injected with chicken blood (adrenaline).

The best way to wake up soldiers is with a wake-up whistle.

Extra 6 If you meet a good man, you should marry him

The CO lectured the deputy instructor from the large picture to the small, from morals to law, and from soldiers' responsibilities to men's responsibilities.

He spoke vividly and seriously, using everything he could to force the assistant instructor to marry Pan Yue soon, including coercion, deception, intimidation, and threats.

How could he deny responsibility after having slept with a girl?

Is this how a true man acts? Are you a man or not? Marry her if you call yourself a man!

The assistant instructor stood at attention, and after the CO finished his rant, he looked him in the eyes and said:

"I'll marry her."

"But laoniang will not marry you! Aren't you too old to be daydreaming? And you guys! You're all sick in the head. Yes, we slept together, but nothing happened. Laoniang is this old; even if we did something, so what? You've all gone insane."

Pan Yue was crouching at the door, a meal bowl in her hand, eating. She dropped the spoon in the bowl and objected as soon as she heard they had reached an agreement.

"Yueyue, you must be sick in the head. There is finally a man who wants to marry you. What are you objecting for? You won’t have another chance like this again. Just get him as quickly as you can."

Aunt Pan despised Pan Yue's failure to meet expectations. It's difficult to trap someone, so how could they let him escape? This silly rabbit had been duped, and there was no way in hell he could be allowed to flee.

"This is the result of the good thing he did last night. It's an undeniable fact. Let's see how you can get out of it."

"Not gonna happen. You can’t force us to marry, nor can you bind us. I refuse to be a part of this farce. Will he accept that I travel all the time?"

The assistant instructor appeared solemn.

"I am an army soldier with only one month of family leave every year. Therefore, after we marry, even if you want to go around the world, it's fine as long as you're by my side during my few days off. I will never try to restrict your freedom. After spending time with you yesterday, I discovered that you are a good girl with whom I get along well. To have a good relationship, we will use the idea of marriage. I know you're a woman with a lot of character. Loving someone is not bondage. I promise you freedom. Fly as high as you wish like a kite, just keep me in your thoughts."

"F*ck, you’re acting like a gentleman with laoniang!"

"I am a soldier and will be responsible to you. Let's have a good relationship and then marry."

Pan Yue was slightly embarrassed. Damn, this woman was never and would never feel embarrassed, not even when she exposed herself. But, for some reason, she blushed when she heard the assistant instructor remark earnestly to her, "Let's fall in love first, then get married," and that he would give her her freedom. This was even stranger than a dinosaur appearing out of nowhere.

"Despite your carefree attitude, I think you're an adorable girl. A girl who likes lollipops and is bold enough to help the weak and innocent. In people's eyes, you may not be the traditional "good woman," but you are the cutest. You don't play games, and you won't make me too anxious. At least I don't have to worry about you not being able to change the light bulb when I'm not around. You will be my most dependable family member as well as my most close partner."

Pan Yue rubbed her head sheepishly.

"I…I don't just change light bulbs, I also fix cars."

"Yeah, you are a strong and independent woman. You are brave and heroic, yet you also have a feminine side to you. You look so cute while eating a lollipop, and you are a woman who will not cause people to worry about you. After all, I have a special job and I can't be with you all the time. I'm looking for a girl like you. You'll be happy with me by your side, but if I'm not there, you can find your own happiness."

"I'll pay for your plane tickets. My only hope is that you will stay with me for the month that I will be on family leave."

Aunt Pan tightly gripped Pan Yue's arm. Her eyes were almost glowing green.

"If I had been 30 years younger, I would have married him. I'll go grab the household registration booklet for you, Yueyue, so that you can get married right away. You're plain dumb if you lose out on such a terrific man. Such a nice guy! Son, mother-in-law supports you! Mother-in-law will buy you a house and a car and will pull some strings to get you promoted. You’re a perfect man, simply perfect."

"Hey mom, restrain yourself. Control yourself, woman! Your eyes are about to pop out."

"I'll take it one step at a time, Auntie. I want to rise in the ranks based on my own abilities."

Aunt Pan almost passed out.

"He's much better than your father."

Aunt Pan tossed aside her husband and began to idolize her son-in-law.

"Let's date, fall in love, and if we're a good match, let's pick a time to marry."

Pan Yue felt really shy.

"Even if I'm rushing around and won't be able to have a baby with you any time soon?"

"It's fine to have children after ten years. I'll have a steady career and a higher military rank by then, and I'll be able to care for you and the kids."

Pan Yue smacked her thigh.

"Alright! There's no need to say anything else, buddy. Let's get married right away."

The assistant instructor had no objection to Pan Yue's decision.

"I finally caught this big silly rabbit, so I can't let it run away. I’m going to hold on to him. You fool, you’re mine now."

The Pans who were watching the show were speechless. Exactly! Didn't it make him cuter?

IDYTRAA - Extra 3&4

Extra 3 WoMan invites for a drink

It goes without saying that a special forces soldier is highly skilled. The assistant instructor neutralized the robbers with a few punches and kicks.

Someone ran forward with a rod, which the assistant instructor blocked with his back, and the rod snapped.

Pan Yue whistled loudly.

"Such powerful kung fu, dude! Laoniang is optimistic about you; jiayou!"

The assistant instructor ignored her. He whipped around and punched the attacker before raising his leg and kicking him. When one of the thieves whistled, Pan Yue became extra alert. This isn’t a black whistle on the island[1], right?

Sure enough. Within five minutes, twenty or thirty people appeared, brandishing sticks and rushing over.

"Hey, you’re in trouble, dude. Run away!"

The assistant instructor kicked a thug.

"Evil cannot triumph over good. Fight until the end."

Pan Yue rolled up her sleeves and approached the assistant instructor, patting him on the shoulder.

"Good hot-blooded man! Laoniang will support you till the end."

The assistant instructor drew her behind him and looked at the men in front of him who were eyeing them.

"You are a woman; what are you making trouble for? Just stand aside."

"Bah, you a$$hole! Watch as I show you that we, the Pans, are not wimps. It will be a competition to see who can bring down the most. Whoever loses will treat the winner to dinner."

"Deal."

Who is afraid of whom? They both had military backgrounds, so fighting was trivial to them.

Pan Yue's fighting style was completely traditional, having learned it as a child from the guards. She had also served in the military. She was really enthusiastic about fighting and whatnot. The opponent was guaranteed to topple and stay down with a single punch.

She kicked one of the assailants in the groin, causing him to cover his crotch and scream, "Ahhhh-"

"Did you think laoniang would be kind after I pledged to smash your balls?"

The assistant instructor hit harder, but he wasn't as vicious as Pan Yue, who just attacked the weak points.

"Can't you beat them without pulling so many dirty tricks?"

Pan Yue kicked another man to the ground before stepping on that man's bird with one foot.

"You don't worry about how laoniang fights to win. Hey, that's my person. Today I must defeat you!"

As if the assistant instructor would hand her the last one! He'd then lose.

The assistant instructor grabbed the last thug and repeatedly pounded him in the back. Pan Yue lifted her leg and began to kick him in his stomach, attacking below the abdomen.

His face was battered by the assistant instructor. This small thief was rather unlucky. Two masters thrashed him. He was kicked back and forth, just like a football. He was hit and kicked numerous times before collapsing to the ground.

Pan Yue was competitive and started counting people, five, ten, fifteen, and eighteen. She then smiled smugly at the assistant instructor.

"I took down eighteen. You lose, you treat."

Naturally, the assistant instructor would not haggle with a woman. Pan Yue's triumphant smile made him think that this boss woman, no, this WoMan was really cute. She wasn't snobbish or coquettish; she was just straightforward and fun. She was a good comrade in arms when fighting side by side.

"Okay."

Pan Yue slung her arm around his shoulders, like she did with her good friends.

"Ok, I admit; your skill isn't bad. If we have an opportunity, let's swap pointers."

"I don't hit women."

The assistant instructor took her hand off his shoulders. It was not good to be so chummy.

"Tut! Laoniang wouldn't know I'm a woman if I didn't touch the two pieces of flesh on my chest. Come on, give it a go. I'm almost at the same level as Pan Lei. I'm sure I can beat you. Dude, you’re not bad. I like it, so I’ll let you be my friend. Leave your phone number or something. Let’s meet up and practice boxing when you have free time."

Pan Yue kept hooking shoulders with him, but the assistant instructor said nothing. He wondered if this was the so-called "girl chasing guy"?

"Hey! Let's have a drink together, I say. I haven’t gotten drunk in forever."

The assistant instructor began to search through the wallet. He didn't have much cash with him this time, and if she got plastered, he would be left to wash the dishes. In addition, he couldn't drink alcohol while on duty.

"What’s to be afraid of if you don't have money? Laoniang will buy you drinks."

"Bosom buddy, good friend, let's go have a drink," Pan Yue slapped her chest loudly and said.

Despite the assistant instructor's refusal, she wrapped her arm around his neck and dragged him into a pub.

She didn't even order finger food; she just ordered eight bottles of beer.

"I'm happy today; I'm not going home unless I'm drunk."

The assistant instructor only had $300, which he thought should cover the cost of the drinks.

"I invited you to dine and drink, but you never invited me to anything."

"What would you like to eat?"

Pan Yue was eyeing the lollipop in the kid next door’s mouth.

"Alpenliebe, strawberry milk flavored, fifty cents apiece. You give me fifty cents, and I'll go buy one."

The assistant instructor simply stood up, went next door to the mini store, purchased a large bag of lollipops for slightly more than ten dollars, and presented them all to Pan Yue.

Pan Yue squinted her eyes and smiled while holding a lollipop in her mouth. As he observed her, the assistant instructor's back began to sweat. He worried what this tough WoMan would do next.

Extra 4 Drinking and sleeping together

Anyone drinking with Pan Yue would mistakenly believe that the person in front of them is an alcoholic.

They shared a bottle of baijiu, and Pan Yue downed five of the eight bottles of beer. She requested a bottle of wine after the alcohol had barely entered their tummies.

Pan Yue persisted in urging the assistant instructor to drink, and the persuasion eventually turned into a finger-guessing game. The assistant instructor also drank a lot, regardless of who won or lost. Anyway, they'd both drink after a game.

Pan Yue wrapped her arm around his shoulders, and they began calling one other brothers; quite intimate.

The two had a really joyful conversation, chatting about what she saw and heard overseas and other topics.

From the US-Iraq War to the Syrian crisis, human rights, the Occupy Wall Street march, starving African children, the drug trade, and poetry and songs.

Two such unlikely individuals actually drank to the point of spouting poems and competing against one another.

One side recited the line "Raise your glass to invite the bright moon[2]" and the next sentence was recited by the other side "and the shadows will form three people."

Pan Yue laughed heartily and drummed the table to join him in singing. The assistant instructor was clearly inebriated; otherwise, he would not have sung military songs.

Pan Yue had also served as a soldier, so she was familiar with these songs and could easily follow along.

Diners came and went, all shooting interested glances at their table. The woman who didn't behave like a woman was unquestionably the center of attention.

The assistant instructor was sprawled on the table at the end of the booze binge.

Pan Yue merely let out a contented belch, paid the bill on wobbly legs, and hoisted the assistant instructor.

She swatted him hard across the shoulder.

"Useless man, you can't stand this small amount of alcohol."

There were fifteen or sixteen bottles of beer, one bottle of baijiu, and two little bottles of Erguotou under their table. This amount of liquor was nearly equal to the drinking capacity of four people.

Pan Yue was convinced she wasn't intoxicated because she remembered she couldn't drink and drive, and she couldn't cause trouble for Pan Ge. Pan Ge would lose face if she was arrested for drunk driving by traffic police.

"Hey! Hey! Are you returning to the barracks? I want to go home. Come on, talk to me."

The assistant instructor's arm was slung across her shoulders, and he'd dozed off with his head down. In response to Pan Yue's question, he simply waved his hand and said nothing.

"Shit! You’ll get a serious administrative penalty if you return to the barracks like this. Forget it, laoniang should take you in."

Pan Yue was actually a kind person. She had no choice but to find a means to bring him back to her house in order to keep him from being punished.

"F*ck! Stand up by yourself, you ass. Don't f*cking press on laoniang; laoniang is almost out of breath."

The assistant instructor was still pushing her down with his body tilted. Pan Yue wanted to take a taxi, but she couldn't since her hands were occupied. He'd fall to the ground as soon as she let him go.

"Hey man, you refused to be with me a few nights ago, so why are you putting pressure on me today? Do you consider Laoniang to be your rag doll, with which you can play as you please? Do you think you could have eaten laoniang's tofu so easily if it hadn't been for your friendship with my younger brother?"

Pan Yue supported him by pulling his arm towards her. Several folks in the vicinity gazed at her, surprised. Her statements became increasingly ambiguous as they were spoken. But why did they sound a bit strange? What was the nature of this man and woman's relationship? Were they really that close? Were they in a relationship? Sweethearts who sleep together and go out at night?

Pan Yue eventually flagged down a taxi and helped him in. The driver frowned when he smelled the overpowering stench of alcohol.

"Don’t puke in my car."

"Don't worry. If he feels like vomiting, I’ll force him to swallow it. Drive to the military compound."

The driver pursed his lips but had no choice but to start driving.

Pan Yue burped, which stank awfully. She had a lot of drinks today, but she wasn't intoxicated. She remembered to take the guy and return home, didn't she?

The assistant instructor was comparatively a lightweight. He was barely awake and soon fell sideways on Pan Yue's shoulder, simply leaned on her, and began snoring.

"Useless man."

This was the start. It felt great to go all out and drink as much as she wanted.

Her mother had already returned. She no longer wanted Pan Yue after being absolutely dumbfounded by this daughter.

Pan Yue did not want to leave, so she lived in the military compound at her Third Maternal Uncle's house, which was Leizi's parents' house.

So she had no choice but to bring the assistant instructor to the military compound.

Pan Yue stayed in the West Wing by herself because although Leizi and Tian Yuan didn't stay there much, their room was regularly dusted and kept tidy. It was her temporary home.

General Pan was in his office at the time, and Mama Dang Hong was also in the hospital. There was no one else in the house but a housekeeper who cooked.

Pan Yue dragged the man to her room as if he were a dead dog. Thankfully, he retained redeeming qualities and did not vomit in the taxi. Aunt Housekeeper assisted Pan Yue in bringing him into the room and throwing him on the bed. Pan Yue wiped the sweat from her brow.

"Is he sleeping here? When will he be leaving?"

"He’ll leave as soon as he sobers up. You don't have to be concerned about us, Auntie. I'll be OK as soon as I get some sleep. Carry on with your work; don't worry about us."

"But he’s like this, what if you guys need something? Someone needs to look after you."

"Aren't I here? Don't worry, I'll look after him. Please make some hangover soup while you're cooking. When we wake up, we'll drink it."

Pan Yue pushed Aunt Housekeeper out, and the door shut before she could say anything.

"Hey, what’s the big rush?! I made sour plum soup and was wondering if you’d like a bowl!"

Pan Yue didn't hear the housekeeper’s question. She felt woozy when she turned around and walked into the room. She took off her jacket, tossed her shoes aside, threw herself on her back, and collapsed next to the assistant instructor, unable to wake up.

Aunt Housekeeper shook her head. These children are becoming more and more unrestrained. They would have had to endure blame and shame if they slept in the same room in old times.

Isn't there a saying that men and women shouldn’t be alone together after the age of seven? Well, times have changed.

Aunt Housekeeper shook her head and walked to the kitchen to cook dinner. General Pan was seated alone at the dinner table when Mama Dang Hong returned home and came for dinner after freshening up.

"How come Yueyue didn't come home for dinner?"

Mama Dang Hong didn't see Pan Yue after she got home from work and assumed she was playing crazily once more.

"She's sleeping in her room. There's also a man in the room. I saw that they drank a lot, so I didn't call them. It's time to wake them up."

Mama Dang Hong was taken aback. There was a man in Pan Yue’s room?

What’s this situation? How can a girl bring some guy to her room?

IDYTRAA - Extra 2

Extra 2 The marriage of Pan Yue, the WoMan

Pan Yue’s romantic history went like this.

Aunt Pan is reported to have been thrilled when she learned that her daughter Pan Yue, this fearless WoMan, had a crush on someone.

Pan Yue had once spoken of love, claiming to have fallen in love with her senior. He was a scholarly young man who appeared to have transmigrated from ancient times. According to hearsay, his forefathers were all literati, and for several generations, his family produced many zhuangyuan, bangyan, tanhua[1], and even a court minister. Any randomly picked girl in the family could recite Di Zi Gui.

"I liked him at first sight," Pan Yue stated. That guy used to do ink paintings by hanging his wrists. He was dressed in a Confucian garment with a wide robe and large sleeves that day, with one sleeve rolled up and a brush in the other, precisely like the type of scholar in TV dramas.

Pan Yue began chasing him furiously, terrifying the scholarly youngster. He'd never encountered such a bold woman before. Her brazenness rendered him dumbfounded and caused him to vomit blood incessantly.

"Sir, does the red sleeve add fragrance?"

"Husband, shall I serve you in bed at night?"

"Young master, take off your clothes and go to bed."

"F*ck your uncle, what the hell do you want? Laoniang wants to sleep with you and there's no need for you to pay, so why the f*ck are you avoiding me? What's the harm in marrying me? Laoniang also assisted you in beating the bad guys. Will you go through with it or not? Speak! Agree or disagree? F*ck this! If you won't marry me, laozi will knock you out, drag you home, and XXOO you. By this time next year, I'll have made you a dad."

That stupid egghead peed his pants. He flew out of the country that evening, fleeing.

Later students claimed that the senior was so stimulated that he fell in love with a man.

Such was Pan Yue's heroic past.

Because of her powerful momentum, no one dared to like her. All those she played with were now her buddies. She grew quite close to Zhang Hui when she was twenty, thinking she had something going with him. But, after rigorous investigation, Zhang Hui lost a mahjong game to her and a month's worth of food. Every day, she dashed to Zhang Hui's place to eat whatever was pricey and unique. She tried the rat meat, the snake gall, and even the grasshoppers. Zhang Hui pursued Pan Zhan for payment - Your sister ate all the food, making me eat a loss. She ate a lot and it was all expensive stuff. You are responsible for compensating me.

She was also very close to Lin Mu at the age of twenty-five, and they spent the entire day together. Lin Mu, she believed, had been conquered by her. But Lin Mu, who was playing a game at the time, took her to clear a dungeon when he was asked. She only had the most basic alternate account, but she went to hack the ultimate big boss. Lin Mu, who was grinding, taught her how to level up, defeat opponents, and acquire items.

She was chummy with Huang Kai after half a year and was not optimistic. Huang Kai urged her to fight for the territory with him after she inquired, so she learned to be a young and dangerous babe, dressed in a leather jacket and pants and carrying a machete, and followed Huang Kai to participate in gang fights.

This girl traveled abroad after being severely reprimanded and educated.

It was Leizi and Tian Yuan's wedding when she returned. She was dressed as a lady, but sadly, she made a fool of herself with the outfit.

She proposed to the frightened assistant instructor while holding a bunch of roses.

The evil bunch was utterly dejected that night since they couldn't play pranks in the bridal chamber, but the Pan's house in the military compound was brightly lit. Everyone, except Pan Lei and Pan Ge, was present, including Pan LingSi'er.

The assistant instructor seemed tense. There were two generals, one lieutenant general, one chief staff officer, and one retired old gent in front of him. Anyone randomly chosen had a higher rank than him.

Everyone was staring at him, as if he were a rare species among a swarm of aliens.

Pan Yue was not present since she had gone to bed. This was not something she was interested in.

"Where are you from, young man? Is there anyone else in your family? Do you intend to stay in this city? Are you married? Do you have a girlfriend?"

Finally, Eldest Uncle Pan spoke up.

"My niece excels at everything, it’s just that she’s short-tempered. She used to play with boys when she was younger and is a bit of a tomboy, but she is a wonderful girl. She is a war correspondent who has experienced bullets and rescued the helpless. She is a good girl, full of chivalry and tenderness."

Second Uncle Pan began to recommend his niece as well.

"She meddles, but she doesn't do it lightly. She tries to be brave, to assist the helpless, and to campaign for justice. She may appear rough and tough and speak gruffly, yet she is a lovely girl. She has never messed around over the years. She has spent so many years abroad, but she will never do anything inappropriate. You may be intimidated by her, but as you get to know her better, you'll see how amazing she is."

Third Uncle Pan began lobbying as well.

"Talking in circles so much, can’t you say it straight! If you like my family’s Yueyue, you can get the marriage certificate tomorrow and marry the following day. It just so happens that no one has left. If you don't agree, don't sit there and waste our time."

With one strike, Grandfather Pan made the final decision. Whether you agree or disagree, just say the word.

Tian Yuan, Pan Lei, I hate you.

The assistant instructor was on the verge of crying in his heart; he loathed that couple!

"I like girls who know the four arts[2]."

"My daughter was three when she learnt to recite Tang poems, five when she learned to write calligraphy by herself, seven when she started school, and eight when she studied Guqin. She is excellent at ink painting."

Everyone nodded when Aunt Pan stated this. Pan Yue was a typical girl when she was very young, but no one knew when she became a WoMan.

"I like gentle girls."

"My little aunt is the gentlest. When she catches toads, she never lets them die instantly. She plays with them bit by bit till the layer of skin falls off before killing them."

LingSi'er stood up for her aunt.

"I'm hoping for a normal family. My wife will not run around, do the chores, and love me and my family."

"Why are you so dumb? How do you know my sister-in-law can't do chores unless you live with her? Every time we go shopping, she spends my money while saving all of hers. This can be said as being financial savvy. Isn't she really good at living?"

Eldest sister-in-law Pan (Pan Zhan’s wife) also couldn't sit by idly and watch.

"Say yes or no."

The assistant instructor simply lowered his head and remained silent. There was no way he’d accept that WoMan.

"It’s okay if he’s unwilling to marry. Laoniang isn’t interested in marrying just yet anyway."

Pan Yue strolled over to the assistant instructor and sized him up casually.

"The figure isn't nice enough, the back isn't strong enough, the waist curve isn't attractive, and he's darker than I am. I'm not looking for Prince Charming, but neither can he be foolish. You despise me, and laoniang despises you even more. I'm warning you not to appear in front of me. When I see you, I'll hit you."

Pan Yue's words made everyone lose face.

The assistant instructor quickly stood up.

"You're too kind, Miss Pan. I'm very sorry."

He saluted each and every general commander.

"I'm truly unworthy of all the chiefs' deep favor. I still have something to attend to in the army, so I'll leave first."

Alas! Everyone sighed. They had thought they had finally found the perfect son-in-law. Who would have thought he'd be scared away?

Marrying off this girl in their family was really different from the boys getting hitched. It was a done deal as long as the boys liked someone. No one liked this girl because she was too odd.

Pan Yue couldn't care less. She cut half a watermelon, sat cross-legged on the sofa, and ate it while laughing and spitting the watermelon seeds as she watched TV.

Aunt Pan was depressed. Why did they have such a girl in their family? What a dream it would be if she were a boy.

Pan Yue had been rejected and was now back to running wild everywhere.

Pan Yue, bored in every way, headed to the streets with her camera on her shoulder.

She went to a nursing home and photographed the elderly.

She went to the plaza to photograph people enjoying themselves. She watched the people on the streets while licking an ice cream cone. They were all engaged, and no one entertained her. This person still required company.

Just as she was bored, she squinted and noticed a young man with red and green hair, maybe eighteen or nineteen years old, passing by a girl. A knife flashed, and the sharp knife sliced the girl's knapsack, stealing her wallet.

"You f*cker! Even in such a bright and peaceful world, there are daring young criminals."

She put the camera back in her bag, stood up, and roared.

"Don't run, little thief!"

Everyone who passed by heard this voice.

When the young thief realized he had been discovered, he bolted like lightning. Pan Yue sprang up and chased after him, unafraid. What fantastic timing! She was bored, so this gave her something fun to do.

"My wallet was stolen, catch the thief," the girl cried.

Hearing this yell, a passing military vehicle came to a halt, and a man dressed in camouflage jumped out.

A soldier defends home and nation, protecting the property of the people, and will not tolerate gangsters or the like.

He asked the girl who had lost her wallet where the thief had gone, and she pointed in the direction Pan Yue had pursued.

The man in camouflage followed him as well.

Let's just say that in this world, there is such a thing as fate. Or, to put it another way, there would be no stories without coincidences and no marriages without chance meetings.

The assistant instructor was the one who got out of the car.

Pan Yue had no idea that the assistant instructor was also on the hunt for the thief.

The assistant instructor didn't know either that the thief was being chased by the WoMan from the day before.

The robber dashed into an alley, then turned around and stopped running.

In the depths of the alley, a few more people appeared, all punks and smirking, and encircled Pan Yue.

Pan Yue was surrounded by five or six muscular men. They were incredibly cowardly to have no f*cking qualms bullying a woman.

"You followed me all the way here, huh, you’re too reckless. Why are you so nosy? I'm going to destroy you and leave a few scars on your pretty face. Don't you know that you shouldn’t poke your nose in other people’s business?"

Pan Yue slung her backpack over her back. She wouldn’t be terrified even if ten more such cowards showed up.

"I’m going to break your balls today. Let’s see how you will steal money from now on. Come on, group fight. I’ll fight you one-on-one, or you can gang up on me. Show me what you’ve got. Come!"

What was there to be afraid of when it was just fighting? She didn’t get to fight that day and her hands were itching like crazy.

I'll take this God-given opportunity to practice my skills with these punks today.

She remained still. The punks exchanged glances before charging forward, fists up.

Pan Yue moved her hand, punching fast and fiercely. When she punched, her clenched fist struck a gangster's jaw, sending blood and teeth flying as he was knocked off his feet far away.

She spun around and kicked another man to the ground.

Her wrist was grabbed before she could throw her third punch.

"Go to hell you,,,,"

Pan Yue opened her mouth to swear, but when she looked up, she was surprised to see the deputy instructor from yesterday. She stared at him blankly for a moment.

"F*ck! What are you stopping laoniang from teaching these bad guys a lesson for? Stay out of laoniang’s way."

"What can you flaunt at this time? Why don’t you just be a woman and seek safety? Stay here and don't let these idiots hurt you."

The assistant instructor pulled Pan Yue behind his back with a cold look.

Pan Yue froze for a moment before smiling.

"Hey, it's always been laoniang protecting others. I didn't think laoniang would also be protected one day. Fine! If you win, I’ll treat you to dinner."

"It is a soldier's bounden duty to safeguard home and country, to eradicate violence, and to assist the helpless."

The assistant instructor appeared resolute and unyielding. Pan Yue's eyes flashed, and she backed away, arms around her shoulders. I’ll let you fight this battle.

A man must rush forward at a critical moment.

"Jiayou, pal! Laoniang believes in you."
