Extra 1 Roses for Valentine's Day
It was Valentine's Day, but Tian Yuan had entirely forgotten about it.
He was dizzy from work, and Pan Lei hadn't returned home in quite some time. He stated he was on a mission, then he said he was busy training and had a lot of things to take care of. Tian Yuan wasn't sure if that was true, but this was the longest they had been apart. They hadn't seen one another in over a month. F*ck! Is he keeping a mistress in the army? If he dares, I'm going to chop it off.
Tian Yuan used his phone to call Pan Lei again while eating lunch in the cafeteria, but the call still didn't go through. Where the hell is he? He took a bite of the seamed bun, depressed. Eh? Why is it chocolate-filled?
Looking up and around, he realized that every nurse appeared shy, and they all had roses in their arms. Almost every female nurse and female doctor was holding a bouquet of roses, large or small, but their faces were all glowing.
Tian Yuan stared blankly at the scene. What's going on? The dreamy pink scent that pervaded the hospital today reminded him of first love. Spring has arrived, and everyone in the hospital is head over heels in love?
"Don't you know; it's Valentine's Day."
The ER doctor arrived, sad and frustrated. He sat there nibbling on a steamed bun, tossing aside the chocolate filling.
"I hate eating sweets. Today is February 14th, also known as Valentine's Day in other countries. When it comes to China, it’s Burn Money Day. Do you know how much a rose bouquet now costs? A dozen flowers costs $300. F*ck! Valentine's Day should be renamed Valentine's Robbery Day. It’s so hard to be a man. All of the girls are holding roses. You will be dumped if you do not buy them. If you purchase them, your wallet will cough blood. Guys without girlfriends are depressed, but men with girlfriends are equally depressed. It's all about money."
"Did you get your girlfriend flowers?"
"We split the day before yesterday. I got dumped just as I was about to save this money."
Tian Yuan laughed angrily at him. This stingy ER doctor!
"By the way, isn't that man of yours really romantic? He didn't send you a bunch of roses?"
"Him? That ba$tard hasn't returned my calls in two days. I don't know where the hell he went. I've been super busy at this time, so how will I remember this? Besides, neither of us two mature men has the same meticulousness as a woman. I wouldn't have known it was Valentine's Day if you hadn't reminded me. He is even less likely to be aware of such a thing."
Pan Lei remembered his birthday, his parents' birthdays, and all key occasions, but he couldn't possibly remember such a romantic day.
"He hasn’t returned?"
"No, he hasn’t been back for more than a month. My phone calls aren’t getting through, so he’s probably on a mission."
Falling in love with a soldier meant dealing with the pain of separation and the loneliness of his absence all year. Forget it; I'm used to it.
"Then let us two single men go out for a drink on Valentine's Day. If you don’t want to drink with me, do you want to see me go out on the streets and sabotage?"
Tian Yuan burst out laughing. He remembered the joke told to him by the young nurse. Go out into the streets, and when you see a man and a woman strolling together, slap the man on the face and yell "Ba*tard!" The pair was bound to split up. This was the so-called sabotage. He thought the ER doctor was a handsome guy. The entire street would be startled if he walked out into the streets and slapped a man while calling him a ba$tard.
Fine, fine, they’d go out for a drink. It was no big deal.
After making plans, the ER doctor left, and Tian Yuan returned to work. He called Pan Lei when he was free, but he couldn't get through.
Sigh. Depressed.
The young nurses were picked up one by one, each holding a rose bouquet. The young couples were incredibly sweet and loving, which made Tian Yuan envious. He guessed that it was impossible for Pan Lei to send him roses on this day, mainly because his calls couldn’t get through to the jerk. Tian Yuan didn’t even know where he was.
"Wow! Who’s that? What a big bouquet of roses! Who is it for? This year's roses are rather expensive. It’s a huge bouquet; do you think there are more than 99 roses?"
A handsome guy appeared in the hospital, striding across various departments with a large bouquet of pink roses in his arms, garnering admiration and jealousy from many eyes. Whose boyfriend was he? Who were these roses for? So handsome! So generous! Who’s the lucky girl?
Handsome Guy marched straight to the surgical ward, where Tian Yuan was chatting with the nurses outside. Handsome Guy approached him.
"Tian Yuan."
The little nurse's gaze was fixated on the individual. Did this handsome man get the large bouquet of roses for Dr. Tian?
"Why are you here, Eldest Brother?"
It was Pan Zhan, dressed in a suit. Why did he come here looking for him?
Pan Zhan sighed heavily as he shoved the enormous bouquet of roses into his arms.
"Because I have a sibling like Pan Lei who is a pain in the a$$. He contacted me yesterday and threatened me, insisting I send you roses today. He couldn't give them to you personally, so he had us do it. Tut! Except for your sister-in-law, I've never sent anyone flowers, let alone roses. Forget about it; I delivered the flowers that Pan Lei had instructed me to deliver on his behalf. I wish you a happy Valentine's Day."
Pan Zhan pushed the bouquet at Tian Yuan and promptly scooted away like he was tossing away a pack of dynamite. I gave roses to a man for the first time in my life. Pan Lei, you’re so ruthless. Threatening and exploiting, he used everything to his advantage. Don’t even think of refusing, Pan Lei had said. Who told you to be my brother? Yes, whoever his brother is, he must help him with everything.
Tian Yuan hugged the large bouquet of roses, mildly dumbfounded. Pan Lei, you’re not here, but you still managed to surprise me. But this is too sensational.
"Wow! Here comes another Mr. Handsome carrying a large bouquet of roses. Who is it for?"
The surgical ward was barely calm when another gorgeous man entered with the same large arrangement of roses, waving to Tian Yuan from a distance.
"Oh! Someone is one step ahead of me. Leizi asked me to give these to you. Happy Valentine's Day."
Lin Mu showed up shortly after Pan Zhan, bringing the same 99 pink roses, beautifully wrapped and lovely.
Tian Yuan's hands held two large bouquets of roses, one in the left and one in the right.
Everyone celebrates Valentine's Day. Was his Valentine's Day going to be spent surrounded by roses?
Pan Ge and Huang Kai were the next delivery boys. Pan Ge was holding a bouquet of white roses, which was not that absurd. The thirty or forty long-necked white roses were exceptionally fresh and elegant, and breathtakingly lovely. Pan Ge narrowed his eyes and cast a glance at Huang Kai. Huang Kai, this thing, was clutching two large handfuls of vivid red roses in his arms. The crimson ones shone like fire. They were quite noticeable with one white and one crimson bouquet.
"Leizi asked me to give it to you. Happy Valentine's Day, Tian Yuan."
"Thank you, Second Brother."
Pan Ge glanced at Huang Kai.
"Does your girlfriend work at this hospital?"
"Nonsense! Laozi's lover does not want roses and has asked me to get her diamonds instead. I ended things with her in a rage, and I'm not going to bother bringing her roses again. Tian Yuan, this rose bouquet is yours. I wish you a wonderful Valentine's Day."
Tian Yuan couldn't handle it any longer. Literally. He had two large bouquets of pink roses in addition to Pan Ge's long-necked white roses. He seriously couldn't hold this bouquet of vivid red roses.
He managed to grasp them in his arms somehow, feeling as if he were being embraced by flowers.
"Then I'll give you this. It would be a pity if no one sent you flowers on Valentine's Day."
When Huang Kai handed Pan Ge the second bouquet of roses in his hand, he looked weird, but he took it, turned around, and departed.
Zhang Hui found Tian Yuan behind the flowers, and shook the roses in front of him. This was also a bouquet of vibrant red roses.
"Leizi asked me to give it to you, but I don't think you can handle it just now, so I'll give you only one of these roses; the gesture is what counts. Do you mind if I use the remaining roses?"
Zhang Hui took out a rose. Zhang Hui simply stuck the rose on Tian Yuan's ear, a boy wearing a flower, just as Tian Yuan was thinking he had no choice but to hold it.
He cheerfully held the remaining roses and headed to the ER. A few days ago, he got acquainted with the ER doctor.
Are all the roses in the city here? Roses are especially expensive this year since Pan Lei has monopolized them all, right? Even if he didn't show up, this guy had rallied so many people to bring him flowers, one after the other. He was on his way to become a flower vendor.
Despite his grumbling, Tian Yuan was truly very joyful and felt sweet in his heart. Even though Pan Lei was not around, he'd passed on his love, ensuring that his Valentine's Day was not lonely.
It would be ideal if he could return. It would be wonderful to spend Valentine's Day together. Many people offered him roses, but what he really wanted was for Pan Lei to return. Even if it was only one rose, he would be overjoyed. I miss him more and more each day. How annoying!
Tian Yuan unwrapped a bouquet of pink roses and gave one to each nurse, doctor, and patient in the Surgery Department.
Let's all come together to celebrate Valentine's Day. Giving roses to others will leave a lingering scent in your hands, whether you are accompanied or not. Giving flowers isn't always motivated by feelings of love. Seeing someone smile is also immensely pleasant.
On Valentine's Day, it appeared like no one had much work, and there were few patients. Tian Yuan left work on time, clutching his large bouquets of roses in his arms. He had become the hospital's most renowned person today. Several people sent him flowers. He had the most blooms and the most vivid colors.
A car was parked near the hospital's entrance, and a man walked out, wearing a camouflage suit, a beret on his shoulders, high military boots, and sunglasses, standing calmly, but holding only one rose.
From a distance, he noticed the man surrounded by roses and grinned.
Tian Yuan noticed him, froze for a second, and dashed over. Pan Lei took a step forward, holding the large bouquets of roses in his arms.
"How come you've returned?"
Tian Yuan was ecstatic. He'd spent the entire day worrying about Pan Lei, wondering why he hadn't returned. Pan Lei had sent him numerous roses, but he was dissatisfied because none of them had been personally delivered to him. He was just interested in the flower in Pan Lei's hand.
"I stole a moment and came back to celebrate Valentine's Day with you. Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart."
He handed Tian Yuan the rose he was holding. It was a typical red rose with fallen petals and a crooked stem, but Tian Yuan thought it was more lovely than any other flower. Tian Yuan smiled brightly at Pan Lei. This present was excellent, and it was even better that Pan Lei could return and spend Valentine's Day with him.
Pan Lei encircled Tian Yuan with one arm, lifted the numerous flowers in Tian Yuan's arms with the other to shield them from the passing masses on the street, and kissed Tian Yuan on the lips.
"I’ll spend Valentine's Day with you every year."
He was on a mission thousands of miles away the day before, and he assumed he wouldn't be able to return today, so he phoned his brothers and buddies and sent flowers to his man. He was able to return today at five o'clock and rushed over without even changing his clothes. He bought a rose that had been rejected by someone, a rose that had lost petals, and offered it to Tian Yuan. But, in Tian Yuan’s eyes, no matter how beautiful a flower was, it was no match for the one given by Pan Lei.
Those roses were also not squandered. The large bed was rocking in the middle of the night. Pan Lei personally tore apart those flowers, and all the petals fell down over Tian Yuan's fair body, which was resting there. Pan Lei scattered these petals all over his body, looking at Tian Yuan, who was smiling at him in the petals. Pan Lei's heart raced with anticipation.
"You must send me roses even when we are the age of our grandparents. Celebrate Valentine's Day with me."
Tian Yuan wrapped his arms over Pan Lei's shoulders, his body rocking in time with Pan Lei's thrusts. As he reached out and gathered a handful of petals on the bed, some were crushed and fell to the floor, the fragrance engulfing them.
"Okay."
I'll spend every Valentine's Day with you for the rest of my life.
