Jiu Jue - Part 14

In the wilderness on the outskirts of the city, Jiu Jue's complexion grew increasingly pale. He did not ride on clouds; instead, he just walked. But at this moment, he lost his strength to even walk and sat on a large rock, panting faintly.

"Come out. Haven't you been waiting for this moment for a long time?" he sneered as if talking to himself.

Next to an old tree behind him, Monk Sanjie revealed his figure, wearing a smug expression on his face.

"Guardian Star Lord, you can't have a clear heart even after reincarnating as a monk." Jiu Jue cast a sidelong glance at him, "You've even resorted to using the Spirit Decaying Grass."

"Hahaha, I bet you didn't expect I'll refine the Spirit Decaying Grass's venom into a poisonous thorn and hide it on Li Zhun's bracelet!" Sanjie laughed heartily. "You're so close to that girl, if she's in trouble, you'll come to her aid. You thought you could escape the cycle of life and death, but in fact everything is within my calculations." This monk had taken great efforts to scheme, even finding the Spirit Decaying Grass which grows in the depths of the Poison Pond in the Western Waters of the Hidden Sea. Once touched by the venom of this grass, any supernatural being, regardless of their cultivation level, whether they are mortal or immortal, will lose all their magical powers and revert to their original form. There is no cure.

"I told you, I'll finish you sooner or later, you evil demon," Sanjie looked at Jiu Jue, whose body had already begun to collapse, and smiled insidiously.

"You think you've won?" Jiu Jue's lips were tinged with purple as he raised his head with difficulty. The Spirit Decaying Grass's venom had thoroughly corroded his body and spirit.

"If you're willing to hand over the Three Lives Awakening Dreams book, I can still promise you not to destroy your original body," Sanjie's expression changed and he drew a sharp dagger from his robe, "If you continue to be stubborn..."

"Dream on," Jiu Jue didn't even bother looking at him.

The world began to shake, as if the sky and the earth had swapped places. Jiu Jue finally couldn't hold on any longer and fell to the ground. His body became more and more insubstantial, and countless seven-colored light dots burst out from within. The last scene he saw was someone playing the guqin as someone else danced beside osmanthus trees under the setting sun with the fragrance of wine in the air... a bronze wine vessel[1] surrounded by a gentle lake-blue glow, simple and elegant, lay quietly on the ground.

"Damn it!" Sanjie was furious, raising the sharp dagger to strike down at the wine vessel.

"Stop!" A young voice rang out from behind…

[1] 酒爵: A drinking vessel with three supporting feet.

Translator:

Jiu Jue (九厥) is a jiu jue(酒爵) aka wine vessel… No wonder he became the god of wine-making. Also, the name Sanjie (三戒) is different from Sanjie (三界) which is usually translated as The Three Realms. Monk Sanjie's name means "three warnings."
