Extra 29 LingSi'er visits her uncle's home

Pan Lei was quite conflicted when LingSi'er came to stay with the couple. During the day, he was in the military command area, and Tian Yuan had to go to work as well. Could Tian Yuan cope with having such a young girl at home?

"It's fine. I'll take her to the hospital to play when you're not home. I'll have our mother keep an eye on her."

Tian Yuan was good-natured and mild. Wasn't it merely taking care of a child, even if this tyke had an Ultraman personality?

LingSi'er was a little girl who bent with the wind and didn’t bully the weak. Tian Yuan had a warm personality, therefore she would never torment her Little Aunt, and if she did, her Little Uncle would beat her even though she was a kid.

"I despise parenting. I only want to raise one child, and that child is you. It's far too inconvenient to have a kid at home for no reason."

Tian Yuan disdained Pan Lei, judging him to be excessively self-centered. Life wasn't only about the two of them.

LingSi'er was rather well-behaved, and they got along for several days. LingSi'er obediently followed her Little Aunt to the hospital and played in her grandmother's office day after day. Her Little Uncle would pick them up when Little Aunt got off work. Her Little Uncle would prepare dinner and her Little Aunt would assist her with her homework after they returned home. While her Little Uncle did the chores and laundry, her Little Aunt watched cartoons with her. It was just that what they watched was not Cardcaptor Sakura, but One Piece.

They had been living together in peace for more than ten days, and the child appeared to be easy to care for.

Then, one day, Pan Lei did not return home because he needed to attend to something at the barracks. LingSi'er and Tian Yuan were alone at home. This was the so-called "no adult at home" situation, and LingSi'er began to be loud and unrestrained.

"I don't eat fruit like this, Little Aunt."

LingSi’er made a fuss when Tian Yuan washed the apples.

"What do you eat then?"

LingSi'er approached Tian Yuan, smiling sweetly like the good girl she was.

"Little Aunt~"

"Call me Uncle."

"Little Aunt, I'll call you Uncle if you carve me a little rabbit out of the apple."

Tian Yuan acted without hesitation. He peeled the large apple and began carving it. Now here's the thing: you'd think a surgeon's hand is very skilled, so Tian Yuan's task would be easy, but remember, the fruit they ate at home was all peeled and pitted by Pan Lei before being handed to Tian Yuan's hand. His fingers were nimble, but his hands were inexperienced.

He sliced his thumb by accident, leaving a one-centimeter wound, and the slender fair finger bled immediately.

LingSi’er was terrified and made a hasty phone call.

Tian Yuan tried to stop her, but she was too fast. The girl's movements were swift.

"Little Uncle, Little Uncle, Little Aunt cut his hand! It’s a big cut and there is a lot of blood coming out."

"No, he was only giving me a small fruit. I wasn’t being naughty."

Tian Yuan took the proffered phone while putting a band-aid on his finger. There.

"It's nothing, it’s nothing; just a scratch. What are you yelling for? It only hurts a tiny bit. I didn't mean to. Yeah, OK, come back."

Could a grown man like him be unable to stand such a small cut? He hadn't cut off his finger or anything. It was trivial.

Pan Lei rushed home two hours later, clutching a first-aid kit.

"Let me examine the wound, baby. No, I think we’d better go to the hospital."

Tian Yuan stretched his thumb in front of Pan Lei's eyes. He would be mocked to death if he went to the hospital with a one-centimeter wound.

Pan Lei felt really bad for him. From the moment they met till now, these hands had never been injured, you know. It was unforgivable that he’d hurt his hand because of a silly girl.

Pan Lei seized LingSier's pigtail and threw her straight to Pan Ge's house at daybreak. {T/N: xiǎo biàn zi literally means "pigtail," but figuratively it refers to a flaw or evidence of wrongdoing that can be exploited by others. In other words, Leizi had a "real" reason to get rid of LingSi'er. I like how the literal meaning fits the line, so I used it as is.}
