Extra 23 What if the ring is lost?
Tian Yuan went to work and came home, Pan Lei cooked, and the two of them ate and watched TV, chatted about their day, and then went for a stroll with Jindou'er.
They returned home, showered, and went to bed.
Life was peaceful and warm.
What if they lost their wedding rings? There is no such thing. Tian Yuan worked as a doctor, and doctors are not permitted to wear rings on their hands. Doctors rarely wear bracelets or watches, and if they do, they must remove them before the surgery, which is rather troublesome.
Except on his wedding day when he wore it, Tian Yuan's wedding ring was secured around his neck with a chain throughout the remainder of the time, and it was unlikely to break. He was quite careful with the ring. It was their wedding token, he couldn’t possibly lose it. And he was a cautious individual in the first place.
Pan Lei's ring was even less likely to be misplaced. He placed it with his testament. After some thought, he took it up and kissed it a few times before putting it back. He felt as if he were putting his and his baby's lives together.
He could unbutton Tian Yuan's shirt, kiss his collarbone, and kiss the ring in passing if he truly wanted to see it.
They couldn't, in a sense, lose their wedding bands.

Extra 24 Silly Mynah
Tian Yuan received a mynah from Mama Dang Hong. She claimed it could be taught to speak.
Tian Yuan used melon seeds to tease it.
"Say, Bandit Pan Lei."
Mynah tilted its neck to look at him but said nothing.
"Come on, say, Bandit Pan Lei."
Tian Yuan was becoming impatient. He'd been training this silly bird for half an hour, but it just wouldn't speak.
Tian Yuan stopped feeding the melon seeds to the stupid bird when he noticed it was still silent.
"There will be no food for you until you say 'Bandit Pan Lei.'"
Mynah remained silent.
Pan Lei burst out laughing.
"Baby, feed me melon seeds and I'll call for you."
Tian Yuan smiled angrily at him and pelted him with melon seeds. Pan Lei reached out and peeled a handful of melon seeds for him. Tian Yuan ate the peeled melon seeds while reading, which were placed on the table.
So what if it didn't yell out Bandit Pan Lei? He could always choke it.
Pan Lei leaned against Tian Yuan.
"Baby, the cafeteria food sucks."

Pan Lei jumped in front of Mynah and showered it with melon seeds.
"Baby, I love you."
Mynah ate a melon seed.
"Baby, I love you!"
Pan Lei laughed and danced; Tian Yuan also smiled.
"I love you too. Pan Lei."
