Extra 4.2: Movie premiere: Teetering on the edge of control

"The two of you have such a great relationship, hahaha, lovers both on and off-screen," the host said with a laugh. "We have plenty of behind-the-scenes footage to share. Next, let's take a look at some classic bloopers from our other lead actor in Hidden Blade, Chen Yimo."

"You're not sincere, director," Chen Yimo quickly chimed in. "Last time I treated you to dinner, you promised not to release my embarrassing moments."

"But I was the one who settled the bill!" the director shouted. "So I added a few more shameful titbits for you." Work stolen from https://chipoholictranslations.blogspot.com/p/homepage.html

[Hahaha, the director of Hidden Blade is truly something.]

[Let me see the pervert NG! Hahaha, I love it.]

[Chen Yimo, you're handsome even when you're playing a pervert. Please take on more of these paranoid and twisted roles in the future.]

A scene between Chen Yimo and Lin Jianlu played out on the screen.

The beautiful and weak omega was being held by the neck, forced into the icy lake water by Chen Yimo. Overwhelmed by his immense strength, the omega could only struggle feebly, tilting his head back as his hands weakly gripped the assailant's wrists. His trembling, slightly bent neck resembled that of a dying swan.

This scene went smoothly. However, in the following part, where Chen Yimo was supposed to lift the person out of the water, he made a mistake.

"Pervert, he slashed your leg with a knife, so limp a bit! And let the hostage splash in the cold water a few seconds longer while you sneer and watch him. You're punishing him, so what's with the hurry to fish him out! Are you rushing to reincarnate?" The behind-the-scenes footage included the director's voice barking these instructions.

"I wasn't rushing," Chen Yimo said on stage, half-laughing, half-crying. "You can't see how fiercely Da Wang was glaring at me back then. He looked ready to blast me with alpha pheromones."

[Hahahaha Da Wang: Touch my wife and I'll beat you.jpg]

[Wow, even from this snippet, you can tell YoYo must've had a really hard time filming this. Hidden Blade was shot in the winter, wasn't it? In that freezing weather, being dunked into lake water like that—he conveyed the struggle and fear so realistically.]

[True. I saw an interview about another movie Chen Yimo was in, and gotta say these professional actors are merciless when filming. They just do what's required.]

[No wonder Lin Jianlu is the crew's little darling. I remember the director mentioning on Weibo that everyone on set except Da Wang kept stuffing Lin Jianlu with snacks.]

[Da Wang didn't stuff snacks? Zero stars!]

[Maybe he stuffed something else.]

[?? I suddenly turned yellow.jpg]

The next blooper featured a fight scene between Chen Yimo and Xie Wang, depicting the first confrontation between the pervert and the detective during Xie Wang's initial investigation of the case.

Action scenes are prone to mishaps, and this one was a typical example. In the clip, Chen Yimo lifted his leg to kick Xie Wang but slipped on the wet ground and slid forward, crashing straight into him. The footage even included a bleeped-out curse from Xie Wang.

[Hahaha, so funny, they even caught Lin Jianlu secretly laughing.]

[I saw it too! These two As' fight scenes looked so tense and exciting in the trailer, never thought it'd be this funny during filming.]

[The director swearing cracked me up. I suggest the director make a blooper reel for himself. rofl]

"I didn't even notice you snickering here," Xie Wang commented. "The director and the camera team are great at shooting; this shot of you is really nice."

Unlike the usual Lin Jianlu, the smile was very sweet.

"Next, we have some interesting sidelights of our special guest star, Lin Jianlu," the host announced cheerfully.

Lin Jianlu: "..."

The screen shifted, followed by a wave of excited screams from the audience.

It turned out to be the part where he was filming in a wedding dress.

The white wedding dress was heavy and luxurious, adorned with countless precious pearls, gemstones, and diamonds. The wire harness made him dangle slightly, his toes barely grazing the floor. Fine metal wires restrained his wrists, and his arms were made up with realistic-looking bloodied injuries.

On set, the crew bustled around to prepare for the shot. Meanwhile, Chen Yimo, playing the pervert, was off in a corner testing the angle of his whip, while Xie Wang casually strolled over to strike up a conversation with him.

After a while, the director's angry roar echoed through the scene: "Da Wang! What on earth is so important that you have to talk to him right now?"

Barrage—

[Hahahaha, exactly! They're about to start filming, and Xie Wang just has to chat now?]

[These two are gonna make me die laughing. So adorable! Lin Jianlu looks totally confused.]

[@Xie Wang, you're even more of a pervert than Chen Yimo.]

Xie Wang: "…"

"Da Wang, what were you trying to tell me at the time?" Lin Jianlu asked.

Xie Wang's face darkened by half. "We had just slept together, and I wanted to ask if you wanted to force me to marry you."

Lin Jianlu: "..."

"Who knew all you wanted was to sleep with me," Xie Wang said with mock indignation. "Scum O."

The barrage suddenly became more lively—

[What are they talking about? Lin Jianlu is smiling so sweetly.]

[Seriously, just hand them a mic. How are they still whispering on stage?]

[Wow, is this really the Lin Jianlu I know? And Da Wang too—he usually looks so arrogant and fierce, but standing with Lin Jianlu he's like a big dog. These two are a perfect match!]

The host saw these real-time comments and teased them, "Oh, look who's slacking off here! You two, since our roadshow is almost over, let me ask—what are your plans after the event wraps up?"

"He hasn't had dinner yet, so I'll take him to eat first," Xie Wang answered casually. "After that, we'll find a theater and watch the movie we worked so hard on for several months, Hidden Blade."

"Well then, everyone, you might just run into them at the theater later!" the host said with a smile. "We hope you'll all support our Hidden Blade."

At the end of the publicity event, the preview screening results for Hidden Blade were announced, revealing high scores and glowing reviews across multiple platforms, with many film critics giving exceptionally positive feedback:

@Stairs: Excellent—easily the best movie I've seen this year. Every character was brilliantly crafted, and the personalities were fascinating, and… almost everyone's a villain! Whether it's the detective protagonist, his lover, or the perverted killer, there's no one who's entirely "good."

@Floor: Xie Wang's acting has improved yet again. I feel like award season will be calling—both domestic and international. The director's casting choices were spot on; the rivalry scenes between the two alphas were absolutely phenomenal. Work stolen from https://chipoholictranslations.blogspot.com/p/homepage.html

@Sofa: Lin Jianlu shot a movie? Is it even worth watching? He can't act for his life. Well, I'll take it back. Consider my face slapped—I was blown away. The cinematography made him both seductive and stunning, playing a beautiful and cunning omega. Who wouldn't love that? You all need to see this! I'm already planning a second watch. The tension almost killed me as I laughed and cried!

As the publicity event wrapped up, many audience members headed straight for the theaters.

Backstage, Lin Jianlu tilted his head back as the makeup artist carefully removed his makeup.

"Da Wang," Lin Jianlu called out as he caught sight of Xie Wang entering the room. "Pass me the coffee on the table."

"What coffee do you want to drink at this hour? You'll just stay up all night writing songs again," Xie Wang muttered, picking up the coffee that Lin Jianlu's assistant had bought for him from the table.

Xie Wang had recently discovered that Lin Jianlu had a peculiar habit of writing songs after sex.

Every time they came out of the shower after sex, the first thing his still-shaky-legged omega did was sit on the rug in front of the living room sofa to write songs. Meanwhile, Xie Wang would be left lying by his lonesome on the brand-new big bed in their bedroom, abandoned until the middle of the night.

If Lin Jianlu had a cup of coffee to perk himself up, he could stay in the living room even longer.

Xie Wang was quite unhappy about this.

"Da Wang, give me the coffee," Lin Jianlu said, holding out his hands for the cup. "I promise I won't write songs tonight."

The makeup artist finished up and left the room, closing the door behind them.

Lin Jianlu sat in a swiveling chair, his right foot gently tapping the floor to spin himself toward Xie Wang. Lifting his right hand, he crooked his finger in a sexy gesture to beckon Xie Wang.

Xie Wang's face held a faintly displeased smile, but he didn't move.

Unlike how easily he had been teased on stage earlier, the current Xie Wang wasn't so easily swayed. Just a little beckoning wouldn't do the trick now.

Lin Jianlu took a small sip of his coffee before setting the paper cup aside.

The wheels beneath his chair rolled, gliding him over to Xie Wang's spot.

The alpha was leaning casually against the dressing table, his long legs stretched out in front of him. His right hand rested behind him on the tabletop for support as he looked down at Lin Jianlu from above, his smile lazy and indifferent, showing no intention of playing along.

Leaning back in his chair, Lin Jianlu raised his foot and rubbed the alpha's calf with his instep.

Xie Wang's breath hitched, and the tendons in his wrist tightened abruptly as his hand pressed harder against the edge of the table. Veins bulged faintly on the back of his hand.

But Lin Jianlu stopped, sitting back properly in his chair again. He then calmly answered a call from his manager.

"The company organized a viewing for Hidden Blade?" Lin Jianlu asked over the phone. "I won't be going. I'll be with Xie Wang—we still have to eat, and I'm not sure how late it'll go."

Xie Wang was all hot and bothered from Lin Jianlu's simple action, but there was no follow-up move. He turned away testily, glancing at the door.

The next second, he froze.

Lin Jianlu's slender fingers had casually rested on the silver buckle of Xie Wang's belt.

"Mhm, got it," Lin Jianlu said into the phone. "There's another promotional event the evening after tomorrow. Da Wang will remind me—I'll go with him."

His neatly trimmed nails tapped lightly against the belt buckle, creating crisp, rhythmic clicks as he toyed with it absentmindedly.

When Lin Jianlu finally ended the call, Xie Wang, who had been holding back for what felt like an eternity, spoke with a voice that had turned husky: "Unbuckle it."

Lin Jianlu's fingers obediently moved to the black belt, fiddling with the tough leather as though about to unfasten it, only to pull away at the last moment.

Xie Wang's eyes were slightly red as he looked at him, his desire teetering on the edge of control.

"Kiss me," the omega commanded.

Xie Wang leaned down, gripping his chin in one hand, and kissed him almost brutally.

Lin Jianlu was breathless but his eyes sparkled with a victorious glint.

The alpha had conceded.

"Not now," Lin Jianlu's fingers pressed into Xie Wang's hair, feeling the sharp sting of his bite on the back of his neck. "Wait until we get back."

Xie Wang bit his neck twice in frustration, the sweetness of the strawberry-scented pheromones offering a temporary relief to the alpha's burning desire.

"I'll die on you," Xie Wang muttered.

Lin Jianlu lowered his gaze and smiled.

"Shall we go watch the movie?" Lin Jianlu asked.

Xie Wang kneaded the back of the omega's neck and made him beg for mercy. Only then did he regain a bit of control and said with satisfaction, "No rush, let's get you some food first."

It was the height of summer.

Even for Hidden Blade's midnight showing, the theater was filled with people.

Lin Jianlu pulled the brim of his cap even lower and bought tickets for the front row.

"Your neck's going to hurt like hell," Xie Wang laughed at him.

"You don't get it," Lin Jianlu whispered to him. "The front row gives you the best view of the enlarged version of Fierce A."

Xie Wang: "..."

"The main reason is... I didn't get better seats." Lin Jianlu said, "I knew I should've watched it with the company."

His own movie, and he couldn't even get a good seat.

"It's fine, shows it's popular," Xie Wang said. "So many people are buying tickets to watch me chase my wife."

There were five minutes left before the movie started.

Only the first row of seats in the cinema were still vacant.

With just a minute left before the movie started, the two empty seats on Lin Jianlu's left were finally taken. It was a young couple, bickering as they made their way to their spots.

"Bad Orange, you bought such crappy seats," the omega boy complained.

"I didn't expect there'd be so many people at midnight..." the alpha boy said. "My family and your company both gave away free tickets, but you didn't go. You just had to come to the late-night show."

As the lights in the theater dimmed, Lin Jianlu took off his mask. Hearing the conversation, he turned his head slightly out of curiosity.

The boy was wearing a striking red t-shirt, with long, beautiful eyes that held a mixture of arrogance and cunning. His lips were thin, and his mouth curved into a slight smirk, giving him an attention-grabbing, attractive look.

When the boy saw Lin Jianlu's face, he froze for a moment. "Lin Jianlu?"

Lin Jianlu gave a small nod.

"I'm Luo Zhiyu," the other person said.
